Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.

 U r the best!!!!!!

Thnx nana!!!!! Ur the best!!!!!!

My sweet Kate sent me these love lines this week. Nothing warms this Nana’s heart more than receiving words of affirmation from my grandgirlies.

Texting is the way to go these days. I remember the typed letters my granddad would send to me. He had a big typewriter set up in a little alcove in the hallway of his home and spent many an hour writing to family and friends. Now we hold that typewriter in one hand. I still hunt and peck with one finger but the results are so much better and I even have spell check. The best part is that they arrive immediately at their destination.

But if your life is like mine, there may be days or weeks when giving and receiving love may get sidetracked or blocked due to illness, distance, or heartache. Busy schedules and careers, family commitments, and church activities fill up our lives, often leaving little room or margins in our emotional tank and it runs dry. We rationalize that we can do one more thing and then life will settle down to normal. How’s that working out for you?

Last Sunday, our pastor prayed for the liquid love of Jesus to fill all the dark places and crevices of our hearts. That word picture of liquid love spoke to me as I thought of the heavy hearts of some of the people that I love. It permeates through the darkness and pain, the weariness, the anger and frustration, the search for purpose and fills in the spaces with the warmth and love of Jesus.

We are not alone.

We will not be consumed.

We are loved.
